Venue +15 Soundscape
Seasonal Waves explores collaborative sound-making at several levels: the artists performed the instruments through direct engagement in live performance, and the instruments performed themselves through sympathetic resonance and excited systems.
Seasonal Waves references the four seasons of the Canadian prairies: Fall, Winter, Spring,Summer. Each season is a distinct movement with its own sonic character, duration and rhythms. In all movements, sound events suggest everyday natural and urban sounds and rhythms such as wind, insects, birds, chinooks, drumming, human activity and rain as an imaginary and psychoacoustic soundscape.
Ellen Moffat and Jeff Morton have collaborated on site-specific and performance projects in Saskatoon and Regina since 2009.
