Experience the wonder and charm of an old fashioned Christmas at Once Upon A Christmas, returning to Heritage Park Historical Village, Saturdays and Sundays only, November 21st until December 20th, 9am to 4pm. This time honoured tradition is the perfect way to get into the true spirit of the holidays! Start your day with our mouth watering Christmas Breakfast Buffet in the elegant Wainwright Hotel. This very popular buffet will sell out quickly, make sure pre-purchase your tickets by calling 403-268-8500.
Take in the splendor and beauty of the Park decked out for the season while on a festive, horse-drawn wagon ride. Tour three of our historical homes each uniquely decorated to represent different holiday traditions from 100 years ago. Visit our special Christmas model railway layout in Barons Snooker Parlour and decorate your own gingerbread man in the Wainwright Hotel. Children will enjoy losing themselves in the maze, making crafts and picking out gifts for mom and dad in our Kid's Only Store, located in the Burns Barn.The streets will be filled with music and laughter as carollers bring holiday classics to life and our roving theatre troupe entertains with a new spin on an old favourite, the prairie version of "A Christmas Carol". All are welcome to learn about traditional Chanukkah customs in the Montefiore Institute and sing Christmas carols in St. Martin's Church. The air will be scented with fresh baked gingerbread, the shops stocked with the finest Christmas merchandise and a certain "you know who" will be stopping by with his reindeer for a visit!
Heritage Park offers a unique shopping experience for those looking for antique, vintage or one-of-a-kind items. Visit the Claresholm General Store, Botsford Harness Shop and the Angel Store during Once Upon A Christmas, or our five new shops in the Haskayne Mercantile Block, which are open daily, for gift giving with flair and distinction.
New this year is our magical ice skating rink, located in the FREE ZONE of Heritage Town Square. Now open, this state of the art artificial rink is guaranteed to withstand even the warmest Chinook. Bring your family, friends and your sharpened skates and glide into some historic memories of your own.
